Interesting to see that there are transgendered people on the board. Technically speaking, however, "gender" is a socially defined construct. "Sex" is scientific and states what you add to the reproduction dance. Egg or sperm. Transgenered is fair, but maybe we should also ask sexual orientation. I could almost argue that "gay male," "gay female" and bi-sexual are now thought of almost as separate genders with characteristics all their own; festidious, fashionable, and fabulous for gay men. Gay women usually fit into polar-fleece wearing, friendly, and comfortable, almost boyish. I am not good friends with any bisexuals, so I can't classify, but obviously their choices would seem to make them quite maleable. So, how about it, do non-straight people have different defined gender rolls? |
