I'm Australian and I still use Matisse Flow beside my Derivan Mini set. Matisse produce a guide to show what pigments they used in their Artist range (Matisse Flow) That way you know which paints have a transparent, semi transparent or opac pigment in them. If the paint has a transparent or semi transparent pigment, I either use a white undercoat or if the figure has already been undercoated in black, I have a intermediatary coat of white before I appy the paint with the transparent pigment. Know your pigments and adjust your undercoat accordingly and you will not have coverage issues with craft paints, especially the high quality ones like Matisse Derivan. |
