I do more miniatures gaming these days, but always have a soft spot for board wargaming. |

Warbeads wonders...
I was looking at a boardgame manufacturer site (Columbia Games and Pacific Victory, specifically), and began thinking about my past boardgame addiction and tactical versus strategic boardgamers. In my teen years I was a fanatical #1, later adult years I moved to #3 then #11, then gave a ton of them away (well over 100) when I was in Sacramento in the 1970s.
Details below, but I am usually a #9 unless the family gets together, when by necessity I am a #8. Games played: Sorry, Parchessi, or (if the youngest is elsewhere) Cranium. On occasion – some Trivial Pursuit games, some Monopoly – by wife fiat – short (timed) games, and some Eat It! games.
Currently I have some dozen (not counting duplicates) "core" board wargames I expect will be on my shelves when I die, but no longer actively collect or play them (limit my boardgame playing to family times), and spend much of my time on scenario design, character creation for miniature games, and trying to paint my figures. Oh, and fighting to reduce my time online (like now) or playing wargames like Silent Service II.
Gracias!
