As Derek H mentioned, the question may be misleading to those who have never seen these planes in person. Wave 1 had open cockpits, no pilots. They looked fine. Wave 2 had little blobs of brown plastic in the cockpit. They somewhat resembled the "people" pegs used in the "Life" game. They looked bad. Better to have NO pilot than those little brown blobs. It would save time for those who would replace them anyway. I haven't seen any Wave 3 in person, so can't comment on any improvements they may have made to the "pilot" blob. Given the choice, I would take no pilot over the blob pilot. The lure for me however was the pre-painted ready to go aspect. So I was happy to fly the no-pilot planes, and did NOT replace or remove the blob pilots either. |
