As a relative new comer to miniature wargaming, I'd like to see more "points" in my battle report. I wouldn't expect the battle report to make me an expert player, only time pushing miniatures around will do that, but I think I could be exposed to examples of play and tactics that I would not ordinarily see in my local gaming area. That is a worthwhile thing, because it exposes new ideas to people that are newer to the hobby. |

In Fanatic Magazine issue 1, Jervis Johnson writes: ...if there is one thing that all battle reports have, it's the description of the battle. However...a battle report is also a magazine article, and magazine articles really need to have a point. To put this another way, a good battle report needs to illustrate a specific point, not just be the description of the game that was played. Do you agree? |
