Jlundberg, a good sci-fi (shudder) remake of a Western is the YouTube HIGH NOON spoof, but OUTLAND was not even a good film. Hralan Ellison among many, many, many others does a great review that picks not only on the idea of a 'Western In Space' done wrong, he also points out the factual inconsistencies that not even an SF miliue can excuse. Examples; When testing a corpse for drugs, Sheriff Connery uses a hypodeermic in the arm, and draws out fresh, red blood. From a body that has been on its back for over twelve hours? Hello? Lividity for starters, blood clotting for the next . . . The assasins are 'the best in the system', we are told. So they show up on a sealed, pressurised hull environment . . . with laser guided shotguns. Shotguns with low-load small pellets might be passable against weak bulkheads and still kill, but why put a laser guide on a scattergun? Why are a bunch of tough miners so damn scared when it comes to joining a posse to take on the people who are killing thier buddies with drugs, BTW? |

I don't mean "in which film was his acting the worst." Nor "in which film was his character the worst." I mean, overall, what is the worst movie in which Sir Sean had a role? (Poll options determined by this discussion.) |
