Some rules encourage the use of casualty figures - miniatures representing dead (or sometimes wounded) soldiers. This is sometimes done to mark the location of bodies (which become obstacles on the tabletop). For other games, casualties are a way of tracking a unit's losses or morale state.
Opponents of casualty figures feel that it's wrong to use figures representing dead bodies.
