POLL: What Next for TMP?

TMP has improved steadily over the years, with much of that improvement made possible by improvements in the source code which runs this website. Below is a list of possible future upgrades to this website. Which would you like to see implemented first? (You can vote for up to five.)

Listing of sculptors (suggested by area23)

Upgrade the "old" Rules Directory to latest technology, bringing the old information into the new system when possible. Readers will be able to post their own reviews. Will tie in with the Links Directory, to show all known links for particular set of rules.

Upgrade the "old" wargaming magazines directory to latest technology.

Upgrade the "old" clubs to latest technology. Possibly allow clubs to post their own information, calendar events, have their own forum.

Upgrade the old Reference Corner to latest technology, making it into the FAQ for the website.

Do something with the History for Wargamers section. Probably not much code revision, but recruit people to write history articles starting from the top (i.e., overview of the Napoleonic Wars) down (i.e., specific battles, biographies of leaders, vehicle stats).

Upgrade the Miniatures Directory to latest technology (not a major job - it's only one tech level out of date). Recruit readers to devise directory organization, and fill in the missing data. Determine what maintenance tools will be needed (and create them). Possibly add system for comparing size of figures.

Upgrade Message Boards to latest format (easy). Make miscellaneous improvements - preview post, format tools for readers, search function, etc.

Resuscitate the old Scenery section. Create directory of companies which sell terrain or scenics. Recruit readers to write regular articles about creating scenery (from scratch, or painting up commercial products).

Revive the old Miniatures section (covering everything from sculpting to painting to basing). Recruit readers to contribute regular articles. Publish painting guides for various periods or genres (assumes someone can contribute the needed art!).

Upgrade the Manufacturers Directory to the latest technology, and add search features.

Add a section where members can upload their favorite gaming photos. Perhaps allow members to vote for their favorites.

Allow members to create their own Profile page, with any information they want to publicly share - location, what they play, etc. Have a search function so readers can search for gamers by area and period (i.e., "Napoleonic players in New Zealand"). Link the Profiles to the Message Boards, so you can click on a member's name and see their profile.

Revise the Advertisers Directory so that it displays the banners on more than one page.

Listing of retail stores, allowing users to find stores by geographical location.

Upgrade Hobby News to add a search function, so you can find news about particular games or figures.

Guide to movies of interest to wargamers, particularly international and military films.
