| POLL DESCRIPTION |
Yesterday's poll was apparently controversial in using the term "GM" (gamemaster) to describe the person who hosts/adjudicates a gaming session. Which leads to the question - what do you call him (or her)? |
referee | Just like in professional wrestling.
moderator | Usually defined as one who arbitrates or mediates.
judge | Just like Judge Judy on American TV. Or Judge Wapner. Or Judge Koch. Or that Texas judge guy. (Yes, there are too many judge-type TV shows.)
umpire | Just like in American baseball.
gamemaster | A term commonly used in role-playing games.
facilitator | What Corporate America would call such a person?
don't have one | In our gaming group, everyone plays and nobody acts as judge or referee or whatever.
host | Event Host, Scenario Host, Game Host... you get the idea. (Also the one who carries parasites, but that's a different definition...)
