I chose computer, but could just as easily (and truthfully) have selected CD. I do not own a radio or a stereo. I have a large collection of music on CDs and I ripped all of them into my computer. I can thus create tailor-made lists, and play them while I do other things. So my computer has become my stereo. Now, I could (and have on rare occasions) used my computer to tune in various online music and give them a listen. But not often. And I don't pay to have MP3s downloaded either. I buy the CDs if they have music I wanna hear, then rip them into my computer. That said, my wife LOVES her iPod, and the fact it can hold 2000 songs while she goes hiking (or whatever) is just way too cool for words. Me? When I'm hiking I wanna hear the birds and the river, not Def Leppard! |
