Writing in Achtung Schweinehund!, Harry Pearson remembers one of the joys of his childhood: There was a time during the 1960s when every weekend seemed to bring a new gun. I had dozens of them, but I always wanted more. My bedroom looked like an international arms fair. Apart from numerous water pistols, half a dozen sparking ray guns and a couple of spud-guns (one made of blue metal that propelled its slug using pressurized air and the other a neat black revolver with a pearl handle that utilised the blasting power of caps) that were non-conflict specific, my armament came from two narrow historical zones - the Wild West and the Second World War... As a child, did you play with toy guns? |
