Earlier today I was browsing a thread on TMP where advocates of Patton and Montgomery got into a deranged slanging match over their preferred arrogant blowhard of WWII. At least one correspondent appeared to be as much a prima donna as his hero, although probably without any matching military talent. Although Napoleonics were my first love, I generally avoid the Napoleonics boards to avoid pointless quarrels. Tournament gamers of any stripe have a bad reputation, although I've found many of them to be thoroughly decent fellows once the dice have stopped rolling. Myself, I prefer the almost always affable company of colonialists, VSF players and pulpsters. You almost never hear anyone demanding to see the original German archives concerning Tarzan. |
