These are very nice. Where can I get this range in the UK? And please don't say "we ship around the world" as I'm heartily sick of paying import duty. No one's fault but HM customs, I accept, but still a killer. John T |

Thanks CPT Jake, NF is the look I went for with these, so that people could use them for that gaming genre in addition to far future sci fi. |

VEry nice. I like the line up planned releases. Lots of scope for battlefield vignettes and status markers. The tank and the Cheetah LAV are dead sexy too. Not sure I'm sold on the Atlas though. But I'm not everybody. |

I second John's question on are these avaibale in the UK rather than shipping, always get stung at cutoms and th ePost office £8.00 GBP handling fee How do these size up with Critical MAss ARC troopers? |

The infantry are very well sculpted too, not surprising from Mike Broadbent. |

How large is the tank? For $15 USD it sounds like it's larger than an Abrams. I like these. |
khurasanminiatures | 29 Oct 2010 9:39 a.m. PST |
Here it is compared to a blackprimed t-34/85: picture (It's not sitting on its final drive -- it would be taller if it were.) The hull is about 4" long and 2.5" wide. |

*self-control on* I'm waiting for a GZG-like army deal. I want squads, support, APCs, Tanks, walkers, all in one order. Gorgeous, though. |

@John Treadaway, I know in the past that Khurasan stated that it had no external distributors and was doing direct sales only. I don't think that has changed recently. for most small companies it is difficult and expensive to handle distributors, especially overseas. I think this is the saem issue we face here in the States with GZG, Old Crow and 15mm.co.uk. In some cases, the increased cost added by a distributor would make the difference between ordering direct and getting it locally less substantial. Just my humble opinion. Maybe Khurasan has something in motion we don't know about and he can't discuss until the deal is final? I am not aware of anything like that, but you can hope! Sorry to hear about the handling charges from RM. That 8 pound charge sounds really bad. Jeff |

Cincinnatus | 29 Oct 2010 12:21 p.m. PST |
Good looking range and the tank is very nice looking but measurements alone do not do it justice. That thing looks huge sitting next to the T34. Much bigger than I expected even though the size was stated. |

John Treadaway | 29 Oct 2010 2:38 p.m. PST |
Thanks Jeff – you're almost certainly right. I was just wondering why Khurasan wouldn't say that himself. The full problem, however, is that's £8.00 GBP handling on top of the import fees. My last Litko order went up £20.00 GBP (what's that, $30 USD or so?) for import duty and handling combined. And that's irrespective of any actual postal charges that the company charges me (which is fine, by the way: I for one don't expect the postage for free – thankfully a few bags of plastic counters don't weigh that much!). It's just the import duty/handling (probably $30) that will stop me doing transatlantic business – when added to the postage (what I would like from Khurasan would cost me between $11 USD and $17 USD dollars or so in postage) and the exchange rate I'm out of my price range a bit: in short I'm not sure I can afford the extra almost $50 USD to get stuff across the atlantic which is just a shame: they look nice. I don't know. Would most americans expect to pay fifty bucks import and postage on a sixty dollar order from the UK? John T |

Oh thats the first time I have seen the tank. Very nice indeed. I previewed it on the sci fi discussion page back when I got the master, spring I think it was. Then it went into a long hibernation as I waited for the federal army castings. |

Wow Jon, great release! Your infantry line looks wonderful and the Siler looks great in desert tan. Congrats! I had to pop my head up when I saw Miniature Review post an article on this. Well
back to the molds for me

Mark, I appreciate the work you did on the Siler. Can't wait for you to be free again after leviathan is unleashed! |
NoseGoblin | 29 Oct 2010 4:44 p.m. PST |
Jon- I'm so sick of molds right now I would love some CAD work :) Unfortunately I'm not their yet. John T- I may be wrong but I think a UK distributor would have to bump the price to handle the import fees and shipping, so your sales price would remain unchanged. My guess is that Jon would need a manufacturer in the UK to actually make the models in order to get around the VAT fees? |
JRacel | 29 Oct 2010 5:29 p.m. PST |
I don't know. Would most Americans expect to pay fifty bucks import and postage on a sixty dollar order from the UK? Actually, it's cheaper to ship from the US to the UK than it is from the UK to the US, so we get hit really hard by RM when we order from a UK manufacturer. If it was not for the very steep shipping I would buy a ton more stuff from GZG, Old Crow and several companies doing resin terrain. It is not uncommon for my order from GZG to be split into three or four small packages with each costing £12.00 GBP to £15.00 GBP to ship. It gets very expensive fast and that was before the new higher rates. In the end, I think a lot of this comes out in the wash if you order enough to make it worth it, but on a small order it is just too expensive. I feel exactly the same about ordering from the UK, so I wait until I am ordering enough to make it worth while. Jon may be avoiding this because we have had this discussion a lot over the last couple of years and it always ends without anyone being happy. I think we all are in pretty much the same boat, but for slightly different reasons, but both tend to be related to RM and it's costs. Maybe find a few like minded friends and combine your orders. We do that from the UK when ordering from GZG. Cheers, Jeff |

Not even close. I have to sell 2,600 of them to break even. |
JRacel | 29 Oct 2010 7:48 p.m. PST |
I have to sell 2,600 of them to break even. As nice as these are, at least we can be fairly certain it will not take too long to get into the black. Now we just need to push you way into the black. Considering the amount of stuff already shown coming out for this line, your investment to this point is very obvious. As long as my wife does not close my PayPal account, I can promise a fair amount of additional sales as the other items are released. With all the money we will be throwing at you, you will be living like a Rockstar in no time! :) (Looking forward to seeing how the Siler dwarfs all my other SciFi tanks!) |

Well this line looks good and the Other figures such as the Vespulids have rocked their way up to the top of my wants list. But the deliberate snubbing of John Treadaway has negated my interest in purchasing from this company. |

Deliberate snubbing. Perhaps it's a question that's been asked and answered already? Well

Perhaps sound out fighting 15's to see if they will do importing as they already distribute eureka minis The idea of adding the issues of a woeful USD to sterling exchange rate to the issues of a woeful AUD to sterling exchange rate diminishes the appeal of the idea. :-) With the US occasionally having trade wars with the EU, I decided long ago not to import from the US. The only US company I represent (Scale Creep) I cast under licence: it's the only viable way to bring in US figures without them costing a fortune, and to guarantee ready availability. Perhaps someone is currently considering bringing Khurasan into the UK
but it's not me. Ian |

Well from one response, to what is a great line of figures, I have been stifled twice! Well now I understand why there has been no response from khurasan miniatures as John T must have had the same treatment! Great shame as I would of really liked some of these figures to use for Hammers Slammers:-( oh well maybe next time. Cheers Matt |
