Following on from my enquiry about Baker Company, which seems to have gone out of production.

Who currently makes 28mm metal figures for Vietnam?

Emperess
The Assault Group (TAG)
West Wind
Gringo40

Anyone else? I recall a couple of Kickstarters a few years back looking at producing ranges but my memory isn't good enough to recall who they were..

I know
Force of Arms – Junction City Range, appears no longer in Production.
Or Baker Company.

Battle Honors/19th Century Miniatures has a selection of 25s (not 28s) if you want to add those.

I would add, from what I has seen, Gringo40 are a little on the large size of 28mm and may not be compatible for us scale bigots. More the shame since they are really nice figures. Also, some of the weapons on TAG figures run a little large (especially the LMG).

Eureka for their ANZACs range, match up with Empress spot on.

Kellermen has a small range of British with FNs that will fill in for ANZACs as well or any other 1960-1980 commonwealth troops with FN SLRs as well. They fit in with the TAG, WW, Gringos and Parkfield for size.

Warbases does their line of Ghurkas with M16 that make pretty good proxies for Mike Force troops. They are diminituve in height but fit with the larger sizes of the TAG, WW, Gringos and Parkfield.

Crucible Crush makes 28mm Vietnam in their Black Sun range. While there are some fantasy elements in the line, they do carry US Army, helicopter pilots and door gunners, Vietcong, US Tanks and tank crews.

I ignored the fantasy elements and find the figures mix well with Gringos and TAG. Love the character of these figures!

Never, ever, ever post your e mail address in clear

This should appear as ged4444(at)icloud(dot)com at the very least. Personally I would mask it even more as (at) and (dot) are both easily spotted these days.

Gringo40s are particularly good if you use the Corgi Unsung Heroes range of vehicles and helicopters.

Goose66613 May 2024 3:48 p.m. PST

Thanks Ged, email sent. As Deadhead says, probably best to break up the email, a bit so bots don't harvest and spam you to death with them.

Goose66616 May 2024 6:05 a.m. PST

True to his word, Ged kindly sent me a US marine fig, with M16 on the move. Compares well with Baker Company figures,, slight taller but only by 0.5mm though with westwinds he is a bit bigger, but not to the point of seeming silly.

Ged also mentioned there are more released on the way for the range. So looking forward to seeing those.
