Hello fellow enthusiasts, I have (finally!) found my way into napoleonics as of this year. I have for the most part settled the figure scale and rule set question, starting out with 6mm V&F, maybe moving on to different scope (poss. Blücher) later. I have also determined that I want to concentrate my efforts on the spring half of the 1813 campaign in Germany for now, possibly adding the fall later. I want to follow York for the time being. The first battalions are primed and the paint-athlon shall commence. What I am looking for now are sufficiently detailed map collections in the 1:200,000 range detailing troop movements in theater. Is that something that can be acquired or do I have to create my own using some combination of literature and historical maps? |

Thank you for your quick reply. I may need to clarify: I do have access to detailed contemporary maps (down to 1:87500) of Germany and relatively detailed descriptions of troop movements. What I am looking for is staff lmaps (1:100k-1:500k) where I can study the campaign movements down to roughly division level. That way I would not have to create them myself in a rather arduous process. |

I have a copy of F Loraine Petre's "Napoleon's Last Campaign in Germany -1813" . This has several pull out maps relating to Bautzen, Dresden, Kulm, Dennewitz etc They are more to do with the actual battle dispositions rather than campaign maps, so probably not what you need. He does, of course, give a lot of detail of movements of forces in the text. |

Charles, unfortunately way to large, 1:several million Dave, I have the Nafziger series on the campaign which would allow to reconstruct everything on a corps level to great detail. But it would be very time consuming so I wanted to benefit from other peoples efforts. There is also a huge volume of 19th/early 20th century German literature on the subject, the issue is knowing where to look. Thank you guys for your replies. |
