I'm trying to locate some maps similar to that below that I can then order converted into cloth game mats. I want to use them for 15mm figures, so perhaps more like at a 6mm-10mm scale, as I find smaller scale maps work slightly better with the bigger figures.

These are for use with Napoleonics and Pre-Napoleonic games.

Suggestions appreciated. This photo is from the tinywargames site.

@DukeWacoan,

Any particular geographical area(s) of interest?

Having looked at what I have, those produced by the Spanish for the Peninsular battles show the contours. Many (but not all) of Fortescue's maps from the History of The British Army are contoured.

Unfortunately many maps for the era are often just hachured for the heights.

Fortescue example below:

Those are helpful.

Ones with units on the map unfortunately won't work though since they will be scanned for use.

I'm looking to do 2 or more. Not really wed to anything particular.

I have a hazy memory of such maps coming with reproductions of the von Riesswitz rules. Might look around. At least they'd be out of copyright.

In the UK the Ordinance Survey maps would be a good start, in the US the USGS can provide maps of most of the world with terrain lines and color coding at a nominal cost. There used to be a free source for the Ordinance Survey maps but I can't find it anymore, here is the link for the USGS maps; link

The classic West Point Atlas series has maps on the Napoleonic and American Civil War. They also covered other wars too.

Practical over view maps can be found through several sites on the net.
