Pretty much what the title says. Looking for recommendations for Stormtroopers and Rebel troops ala Return Of The Jedi for some ground attack action. Any/all sources considered. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Moonbeast can you recall 2 Model sets from AMT(I believe it was)made 2 plastic sets one was called Battle of Hoth and the other was Rebel Base or something similar.

Anyway the Battle of Hoth set gave you 2 standing Imperial AT-AT's plus Rebel and Imperial troops and other things.

The other set game you more Rebel troops including Rebel Troopers on Taun-Taun's with X-Wings,some Snowspeeders and a Rebel Transport.

I think the scale was 6mm or something close to it.

You can find them on ebay from time to time but I do have a friend of mine who has multiples of both sets so if you're interested let me know.

I had them ! The figures were closer to 10mm but those sets were nice !

Thank you for the suggestions so far gentlemen, very much appreciated. I've already got 3 Hoth sets on the way from various E-Bay sellers, I picked them up mainly for the AT-AT's. I'm really in need of some regular Stormtroopers and Rebel commando's for use in various Endor like settings. Following on a prompted Legion 4 author stalk/search(:)) I *may* have found the Rebel commando's in the form of Microworld games' light infantry. Still looking for Stormtrooper proxies though, the SEM might cut it…but I'm still looking. Continued suggestions welcome.

Moonbeast you're quite welcome I hope you get what you need.

Which Microworld figures are you using looking at for the rebels? I've been working on painting up some Microworld Foundationists Infantry as clone/stormtroopers. (With my painting skills they're similar enough to use the same figures).

The old GW Epic scale infantry with space marines for stormtroopers and Imperial Guard for rebels works pretty well.

Irregular Miniatures do "not" stormtroopers and Jawa's and a personality pack in 6mm.

Glad to help Moonbeast … The good thing about 6mm scale Sci-fi today is there are a lot of options. Unlike back when I started with GW Epic in '90 … old fart. If some of those options were around back then, GW would have taken a back seat … Also Pendraken has a nice 10mm Sci-fi range … surf the site … pendraken.co.uk/SFH7-p6741

A fella recently painted up a whole batch of our (Darkest Star Games) figures for Star Wars games, including using the Khiff for Mon Calamari infantry. I'll post up some of the pix tonight.

I have those AMT sets and converted some into an Endor (or non-snow) versions with a sprinkling of micro machines for flavour:

Scout troopers and friends

TIE Crawler (custom conversion…. apparently no actual model exits at this scale!)

Imperial Transports

Rebel Scum

Nice work ! I use those AT-ATs as a Titan proxy for a Titan Transport version. And the MicroMachine AT-STs as Knights …

Who made those Transports/Dropships/Landers ? Cool !!!!

Moonbeast04 May 2016 12:54 p.m. PST

@Legion 4: the Imperial transports are Micromachines. The top is the first order transport and the second is called an ITT (Imperial Troop Transport, clever I know :)) transport. For the Rebels, I have no idea but think they might be Micromachines as well.

@Azor 1: I'm thinking Pax Arcadia light troops would make good SpecForce Rebel Commando's and the Pax Arcadia light support weapon troops would be perfect Rebel Commando Plex troops (Plex being the name of the most prevalent missile system in use by the Rebels). Onslaught Miniatures make a TAU like race called Okami. Now, why do I bring this up? Because the Neo Shinobi look suspiciously similar to Rebel Troops in heavy armor.

Look at the picture of the Rebel Heavy troops just under the heading: Uniforms and Equipment and you'll see what I mean.

@Dick Garrison: You sir are a fantastic individual and I wish I could buy you a beer (or 6)! Those are perfect for my needs, thank you.

I want to sincerely thank all of you who responded and I will post more ideas for Star Wars troops in 6mm as I find them. Now, off to find some great figures to use as Rebel SpecForce marines…

For 6mm check out link Their Federation line has figs that could fit as Stormtroopers and Rebels…
