Just bought it, just watched various scenes on a big screen TV, using digital 5.1 sound. AMAZING!!! Twice as good as on HBO (picture and sound is much improved). Worth whatever you pay if you have a good home theater system, and can witness the effects and explosions. Highly recommended. If you don't have a DVD player yet, I would suggest getting one now, as it's just not the same on VHS. |

I'm getting mine the second it comes out ... |

Patrick, it's already out. Just was released today November 5th (at least in N. America). I bought mine at Best Buy and it came to $85 and change. I know it's cheaper else where, but I would rather pay more and have it right now, than wait a day or two to get it in the mail. |

Just an FYI... In the SanFrancisco Bay Area BestBuy advertisement booklet, BofB is $79.99, AND, a free copy of the HBO movie "When Trumpets Fade", which is about the battle in the Hurtgen forest September 1944-February 1945. Ron |

Its been delayed in New Zealand until the 27th so my reference library will get 'Blackadder goes forth' instead.

Patrik R - I got my copy from Virgin on Monday in the UK! Where in Europe are you - you can get it from Amazon.co.uk for £44.99. Same coding, so you still use it anywhere in Europe (same as New Zealand I think too Stuart...) I've watched it all already - late nights Monday and Yesterday! I missed some of the episodes the first time round - aren't the Battle of the Bulge ones depressing! |

Has anyone watched the extra stuff yet ? If so, can you describe what it's like ? I know they are including the documentary as an "extra", but I thought there was some other stuff included too. |

I got it at Best Buy as well. "When Trumpets Fade" isn't a bad movie, just not very good. It's OK I guess you could say. That being said, the extra stuff is pretty cool. They have bios of the actual soldiers from E/506, a "Making of" documentary (wait til' you see how they made the Tigers and PzKpfw IVs), a glossary of military terms, a timeline of WWII and the years before, a map charting Easy's progress, photo galleries, multiple language options and Ron Livingston's (played Lew Nixon) video diary. Very cool. Well worth every penny. Of course, I now have to get my fiancee at least one season of "Sex in the City" ... The thing I though was cool was hearing the guys who played Winters and Liebgott's actual British accents. Jay |

They of course weren't the only Brits in it! Any other Brits remember Press gang? The kids tv progrmme on years ago - well one of the guys in Bof B was in that (and of course Lock Stock and Two Smoking barrels!). I'm sure the quarter master corporal was in grange hill or something similar?!

From "Lock, Stock ..." the guys that play Martin and Hanney were both in it. The guy that plays Hanney was in "Snatch" as well. Jay |
