No one started a thread on this yet.. which shocked me…. so I will!

Wow…. I found some awesome deals and even made soem money there!!!

I'll start with my tables.. I managed ot get one for Friday second session and Saturday early session. I sold a bunch of stuff and made some money… I did manage to sell my one "big ticket" item which was a HUGE FoW US para army… Collector's quality and at a pretty reduced price… but it still wasn't cheap!!! And I want to thank the guy that bought it. He was very fair, honest and, well.. an all round good guy (not just because he bought my stuff either). I sat near him and he was very cool and polite to everyone who stopped at his table.

Now, for finds… I did pretty well… I got pretty much everything I was looking for from the flea market, including money to buy in the dealer hall… so, all in all… aside form putting money aside for my 40 Stude and my wife's inspection, I was able to drop a lot of money in the dealer hall and flea market. I don't need to talk about the dealer hall other than Miniatures of the Chesapeake and Old Glory… very awesome, as always!

In the flea market I wrangled a large colleciton of fantasy stuff… LOTR Haradrim.. like 50 of the plastics for $20 USD, Some Warmachine stuff… about $50 USD worth of old lead kits for $10 USD!!! I also picked up the Iron Kingdoms RPG core rules and DM screens for $40 USD… brand new… I also got still on the sprues Riders of Rohan for $10 USD… about a $40 USD value…

And, I have ot mention, it wasn't all fantasy… I picked up lots of WW2 15's and 15mm Napoleonic Poles… all said and done, itwas awesome….

So what did you guys find?

-2 platoons of WWII Italian North African Bersaglieri
-LRDG New Zealand patrol 15mm 6 trucks and 20 jeeps plus dismounted troops and command stands, trucks have historic names on their hoods, etc
-a seperate lot of 7 painted LRDG jeeps

Was very pleased with my finds this year! There was a ton of great stuff in the flea market and once again I sold everything I took to sell in the flea market!

Like Jason, I also had a good time at the flea market, both buyinbg and selling at four sessions. My highlight was buying stuff from $1 USD to $5 USD, which I figure If I don;t want to keep, I can throw it back in the next flea market for from $1 USD to $5. USD

My LOWLIGHT, unfortunately, was buying a huge Flames of War box, called Firestorm Campaign: Operation Bagration, Russian Front June August 1944. The sticker said complete, and I was happy to pay $30 USD for it. Unfortunately, when I got home, I discovered it was missing the campaign book, which was what I REALLY wanted!

I am hoping this was just an oversight on the part of the seller who perhaps has the book sitting on a nightstand somewhere. Either way, I'd like to acquire this missing piece, if any of you TMPers have any good ideas!

Thanks!

Every year at Little Wars I do pretty well at the swap meet. This year's highlights included 4 AT43 boxed units, each with a plastic shipping container (the part I really wanted) for $5 USD each! A huge bin of lead for $40 USD, alot of $1 USD figs, a 28mm dark ages house for $5 USD and a few other oddities.

Had to man the Wally's table so I didn't get to look as much as I would have liked to… also wife worked Wally's so I had to watch myself!!! I did find some of the old Star Wars RPG's I was looking for, got 2/ $5.00 USD and did a trade for bout 4 others. I prob only spent 20 to 30 bucks, found lots of good books Sat afternoon on the free table.

Do hope all buyers and sellers had a good time.

I saw some pretty decent deals but the only purchase was 60 pieces of WW2 microarmor for $15. USD Usually its feast or famine for me. This is the first time I spent under $100 USD in the flea market. Not into FOW armies but I saw some very nice ones at what I thought were great prices.

DF…Dave, right? You guys do an AWESOME job running the flea area! Congratulations man…you really have it down pat and no one can gripe. You treat us sellers like decent people (been talked down to in the past by other old guys doing the same job), and you and the young lady doing the book work (your wife?) were very professional and decent to talk to. Thanks so much, man!

Daribuck, get with the FM coordinators and see if they can pinpoint the specific seller. Then they can contact said seller for you to contact you over the missing book. I have done this in the past and never had an issue.

RE: "Daribuck, get with the FM coordinators and see if they can pinpoint the specific seller."

Oh, boy. That is going to be a lot of work… for someone else, no? I agree that Mr & Mrs Fischer II (?) did a great job running Wally's Basement, and the only thing stopping me from proceeding as you suggested would be the fact that I would be bugging them, and heavens knows, they probably need a break!

Again, I am assuming it was just an oversight, and I know these things happen. I am hoping the original vendor will catch this note… If not, oh well. I still have nothing but praise for the way Wally's Basement is run, including the positive behavior of buyers and sellers, and hope they continue with the Friday evening sessions, which for me were fantastic as I could spread out.

I got lucky with a set of magazines. At each show I attend I normally look for used magazines to read for inspiration. Lately I have found a lot going at the 10 for $10 USD price. In the flea market on Friday I ran across a box labeled 1 for $2 USD or 10 for $10. USD While I was picking out my ten, the owner of the table leaned in and said I will give you the box for $20. USD I thought about it for the briefest moment and paid his price. My daughter and I hauled the magazines to the car and counted them there. There were 70 magazines in the lot! While my wife was not impressed "more stuff" (I edit)I am very happy as I have lots of inspirational reading!
