Okay we all know Force Ten From Navarone is bad, but this one takes the cake. I must say I was not going to watch it but the box cover art make me at least put it in the Blue Ray player. I think it broke my player it was so bad. Word escape me on how bad this movie really is. I wrote better scripts when I copied a Sgt Rock Comic for a sixth grade writing assignment. It looks like it was shot on left over VHS tapes from a porno production. Lighting was not bad, considering it was filmed in Southern California and suppose to be Italy. The Nazi Commander looked like someone out of Weird World War II. At least he could shot someone with his pistol as NONE of the Americans or Germans or Italians could hit anyone using 100s of rounds which they never had to reload. I guess him standing in the middle of the road shooting was learned from watching George C Scott in Patton where he shot at the two ME-109s in Africa from his headquarters. The director, star, producer, and writer should be shot. And maybe they could hit him as it is one guy! And to think he is from Texas more likely some hippie commune near Corpus Christi. George Lucus could not have made a worse film school movie. It sucks so bad I am really considering NOT moving to Southern California.

Oh the name? Battle Force here is a link, view at your own risk:

I am soooo very sorry to be misleading in the title of the thread.

In all fairness I should have said Worst War Movie EVER!

Sorry but you are dead wrong – I've seen U-571…. :-p

ming3119 May 2013 12:55 p.m. PST

The original inglorious Bastards was way bad . A movie where barbara Bach gets out of a tub naked cannot be all bad ,

vtsaogames19 May 2013 12:58 p.m. PST

"George Lucas could not have made a worse film school movie."

Actually, his film school movie was THX1138 which wasn't bad at all.

Dom, I've carefully avoided seeing that film and am glad you reinforced my view.

SECURITY MINISTER CRITTER19 May 2013 1:04 p.m. PST

Castle Keep.

Don't know the name of this turkey .
It was about Italians in the desert and it used M-113s as the armor they attacked!!!
The brave soldier who rolled under one took the noble way out.
If only the rest of the cast had done so before filming

darthfozzywig19 May 2013 1:23 p.m. PST

I started tuning out when you said "Force Ten" was bad.

It had Han Solo, Jaws, and that dude from Jaws.

Allen5719 May 2013 1:29 p.m. PST

I like Force 10 but then, I cant think of a war movie I did not like including U-571. I was somewhat bored by The Hill (I think that was the name).

The Monstrous Jake19 May 2013 2:25 p.m. PST

I always bring up "Battle of the Last Panzer" when discussing bad war movies.

A few weeks ago, the MBA boys wasted an evening on "Pathfinders", a totally amateur video we got from RedBox. Just say no.

Steve W19 May 2013 2:44 p.m. PST

No K Battalion is probably the worst war film I have seen

dmclellan19 May 2013 2:47 p.m. PST

Have you forgotten Pearl Harbor?

imdb.com/title/tt0213149

It would take a really bad mpvie to top that one.

The director/writers other movie looks good.

"P-51 Dragon Fighter".

Maybe you should give him one more chance.

1200? Hard to leave anything out in a list so large.

"Their Mission: Kill Nazis". Umm, kinda vague mission parameters there, no?

Force 10 was fine! It was no "Where Eagles Dare" but what is?

Irish Marine19 May 2013 3:32 p.m. PST

I saw a Rock Hudson movie over 30 years ago where he played a US soldier caught behind German lines in Italy. Rock has to use a bunch of kids who use M-40's and carry out some commando operation with Rock, I think this was the worst.

GuyG1319 May 2013 3:40 p.m. PST

One word- Midway

evilcartoonist19 May 2013 3:55 p.m. PST

I wonder if this movie was an attempt at comedy?
The tagline is: "The worst is yet to come."

It also looks a lot like (a fraction like) Inglorious Basterds, or one of the common B-movie remakes that are put out these days (such as the "Transmorphers" or "The Day the Earth Stopped.")

Was there any snow on the ground in "Battle of the Bulge"? I forget…

And where is the love for "Pearl Harbor"?

14Bore19 May 2013 4:42 p.m. PST

Battle of the Bulge gets me watching every time, for the laughs.

"SS doomtrooper" and everything else from the SyFy channel

Sundance19 May 2013 5:37 p.m. PST

Refuse to see U-571 but made the mistake of seeing Code Talkers. Yes, it was the worst movie ever!

15mm and 28mm Fanatik19 May 2013 5:48 p.m. PST

I almost bought this at my Southern California Walmart some months ago for $9.99 USD. Was intrigued because I'm a sucker for WWII movies but with no small effort I put it back on the shelf. I've been burned too many times impulse buying low-budget straight-to-DVD movies that sucked to give it a go.

Augustus19 May 2013 5:50 p.m. PST

Sit down, Colonel!

Cuchulainn19 May 2013 6:00 p.m. PST

Actually the worst WW2 movie ever was on TV in the UK today. Thankfully I noticed it in the listings before i turned over to the channel showing it.

The film? Saving Private Ryan!

charared19 May 2013 6:13 p.m. PST

Hmmm…

GOTTA drink on this one.

Zephyr119 May 2013 7:32 p.m. PST

" And where is the love for "Pearl Harbor"? "

It was so bad a movie that even the Japanese complained about being included in it….

However, it was nice to see some of the WW2 aircraft they sent to fly over the theaters as a publicity stunt on the opening day….

Dances with Clydesdales19 May 2013 7:34 p.m. PST

I fell asleep during "The Thin Red Line". It should be prescribed for insomniacs.

vojvoda19 May 2013 8:36 p.m. PST

Gentleman as bad as some of those above are, and yes there are some that are bad but not rotten like this turkey. I have seen high school stage dramas with more believable dialog and performances.

I mean this movie STINKS! There is nothing about it that is right or redeeming. It was SO bad I HAD to watch it until the end. I knew from the box cover it was a stinker. And what the P-51s on the back of the box have to do with the movie I have no idea. I knew I would have to watch (much like a train wreck) all the way though after the first two minutes. I am not even sorry I wasted 90 or so minutes of my live on this as it WAS THAT BAD!

It is the gold standard to judge all bad movies by. I hope someday to meet the director/writer/producer/star and his girlfriend one day. I will tell him to his face that he should never work in Hollywood again, ever!

Castle Keep is the only film where a 60mm mortar takes out a Belgian firetruck….I mean, really…

Personal logo enfant perdus Supporting Member of TMP19 May 2013 9:26 p.m. PST

I thought that was the prescribed way to take out a Belgian firetruck.

Personally, I hate Kelly's Heroes, but I can't say it's the worst.

I've never had the guts to watch this 'un

Toshach19 May 2013 9:41 p.m. PST

It's hard to call any movie with Kate Beckensale in it the worst, but then again, Ben Afleck is also in it.

SymphonicPoet19 May 2013 9:58 p.m. PST

I almost hate to say this: All This and World War II may have been a movie before it's time. The footage is great. Most of it is bone-fide wartime stuff more or less in order and portraying what it pretends to portray to where I am (Dec. 1941), but even the cinematic stuff is generally good. And you get to hear Beatles tunes inserted almost arbitrarily. What's not to love?

Pictors Studio19 May 2013 10:04 p.m. PST

I'm with dmclellan on this one. Pearl Harbor was bad as a WWII movie, a war movie and just a movie in general.

wrgmr119 May 2013 10:13 p.m. PST

The only redeeming feature of Pearl Harbor was Kate Beckensale.

Cerberus031119 May 2013 10:42 p.m. PST

Hands down, Enemy At The Gates.

Even by Hollywood standards the book, reality and the movie have so little in common its not funny.

I can forgive Pearl Harbor. Its a vehicle for stars and it just happens to have its canned plot set in 40 to 42.

Enemy At The Gates starts with such promise, then flings itself happily into the huge pile of merde that most Hollywood movies come from.

Martin Rapier19 May 2013 11:12 p.m. PST

At least in Force 10 the German T34s were painted dunkelgelb.

SPR and Enemy at the Gates? Really?

Clearly you haven't seen the abomination called Breakout, it even starred Robert Mitchum and Richard Burton, but that didn't save it.

I was rather fond of Castle Keep.

Samurai Elb20 May 2013 2:01 a.m. PST

I prefer an italian/french Co-Produktion from 1969 called in german Königstiger von El Alamain (Kingtigers of El Alamain) as the worst World War II movie. Unfortunately I don´t know it was ever translate to English but by some friends of mine and me the movie now is something like a cult for being the worst world war II movie.

I just see that this movie has been mentioned (the movie with the M113) therefore I second this movie.

Pearl Harbor. It really is awful on every level.

troopwo Supporting Member of TMP20 May 2013 7:48 a.m. PST

There was this thing with a Curtiss Kittyhawk being chased across the desert by a Priest self-propelled gun.

I always thought that some of those glorious yugoslav partisan movies were bad. Was it, Bridge at Neretva, where a partisan on horseback charging downhill is firing an MG42 over the horses head.

Pearl Harbbour was bad enough that I swear I was screaing BANZAI! BANZAI! by the end.

U571 was so bad I started hoping in Der Tag.

They all made me long for that movie from the seventies where Lee Majors had a black co-star who were vikings.

If you want a good movie review, I remember here years ago someone did an absolute cut up of a movie about Vercingetorix. I need to look that up now.

GROSSMAN20 May 2013 7:59 a.m. PST

Ditto on the Thin Red Line, they should have been beaten for even using this title. My favorite line from the "movie" the girl said to the guy stuck on a jap infested island thousands of miles away "help me leave you"
