G'Day Gents Everyone has seen the movie called The Mummy
Would the Sword and the Flame be a good set of rules, to use Legionnaires against mummies? Best Regards Art |

Some people will tell you that you can use TSATF for just about anything, so I don't see why not. GASLIGHT would also work. |

I have used TSATF for just about every historical episode. Even did a Ancients Game, with the British as the natives and the Romans as the colonial invader. Great fun. This would be a small game of just a unit or two of Legion, and maybe a 40 mummies. Or cut down numbers to be 10 Legion vs 20-30 mummies. Will the mummies be killable by gunfire and hand to hand combat? Will they have morale? TSATF is not a skirmish game with each figure as a single person. You could change the rules such that the card draw is for individual figures for the Legion, and maybe groups of 5 mummies/ |

Chaos in Cairo is the perfect game system to play The Mummy. It is pretty much heavily inspired by The Mummy and Indiana Jones. |

The answer is yes. (I only read the thread title – the rest doesn't matter.) |

G'Day Gents Thanks for the information, but is it also possible to have one figure represent one mummy as well? Could I also use a swarm of beetles as a group
or mass moving on the ground. May I ask about GASLIGHT
is it supplement rules to TSATF? Best Regards Art |

GASLIGHT is a separate set of rules not related to TSATF at all. If you want skirmish style battles TSATF is just right. If you want more of a role play feel go with GASLIGHT. Check here for more

You could have one mummy with TSATF, sure. It could be the general, or the leader or officer figure of a swarm of bugs or other nasties. Or you could make special rules for it. I use TSATF for sci-fi gaming btw, with Retro Raygun Galacteers as proxy Brits and SST bugs as proxie native warbands. They are a pretty flexible set of rules. |

Just off the top of my head, I would rate the Legionnaires as British in all respects. I would give the Mummies
errrr
.Dervish stats, if only because they are from the neighborhood. However, I would give the Mummies no missile weapons, and perfect morale. They need never check. You have to wipe them out. Also, at the very least, they should "win ties". I doubt that the Mummies would care to interrogate prisoners, but it would still not be a good idea to let your Legionnaires fall into their hands wounded. I might give them a -2 rather than a standard -1 o morale rolls. |

Hi, TSATF will work. However, for this style combat I agree that Gaslight will probably be a better fit. First you can create characters and or units that are very tough in Gaslight. You can also create vehicles and weapons too. I am a very longtime fan of TSATF. Been playing it since the 80's. But for what you want I believe Gaslight is a much better choice. Oh, I wouldn't say Gaslight is a role playing style game at all. In many ways it is far more flexible than TSATF. Do yourself a favor and take a closer look at Gaslight! I have run games with it that included The Legion of Darkness, Airships, Spider walkers, Tarzan, raptors, T Rex, natives, Elephants, Dracula, The Phantom, Great apes, French Foreign Legion, British Army, US Marines, Count Victor von Doom, Planet of the Apes Gorilla warriors and lots more. Trust me. Gaslight can readily handle what you want to do. Thanks, John |

First let me say, I am one of the co-authors of GASLIGHT, so any remarks I make will be biased. Thanks to those who recommended GASLIGHT. I think they are correct, as GASLIGHT would be better for a game where you have units of men (Legionnaires) fighting smaller numbers of powerful monsters(mummies). The GASLIGHT webpage can be found here: link And here is the TMP GASLIGHT Message Board where you may find more helpful information: TMP link |

I've used TS&TF for games set in ruins that bring various Undead or monsters into play. You will only have to decide how to stat your Mummies and what special rules are required. Typically Undead never check morale, and mindless Undead such as Zombies or Skeletons will attack the nearest living figure(s) and fight until one or the other destroyed. Whether or not your mummies are intelligent is up to you. Often I have the monsters as menaces to BOTH human opponents and use a third color of card suits (I have a deck that has blue for red hearts and diamonds) in the movement deck to regulate their movement. Or find some other system that works for you. I keep hearing about the GASLIGHT rules and am very interested in seeing these in play sometime, maybe some of the folks I game with will put on a scenario soon. |

G'Day Gents Thanks for all the information. I went to the link for GASLIGHT, but could not find a tab to buy the basic rules. Does anyone know where I can purchase them? Best Regards Arte |

G'Day Gents I would like to thank everyone for their posting. I went to all the different links and now
I really want to have a game with Legionnaires and Mummies even more. Again Thanks Art |
