Most times these polling questions generate a fair number of human first but with the rich background and ampule choices for aliens I suspect that the balance may tilt more towards exotic options. An interesting aspect is that there are many different versions of human in the Star Wars universe. So when painting miniatures, would you take advantage of these potential options and chose some exotic colors for you human miniatures
leaving the door open for them being alien or odd hued human? When RPGing do you gravitate towards the more prevalent human or alien options? If yes to aliens
do you have a preference of type? |

I tend to paint up more humans as there are more human figures on the market. I do have aliens in my SW but most races are limited to 2 or 3 figures, wish some maker would come out with a complete line of alien types from military to police to civilians. |

Do I prefer humans or aliens? yes. With the WOTC range, there is enough both human and alien variations to field large formations of both and I do. No prefernce for type, I like large cohesive formations. |

Our RPG group is (hopefully) about to switch from Deadlands to D6 Star Wars (a compromise between my push for Traveller or Eclipse Phase vs. AD&D 4e)
and I've been asking our GM what aliens might be available for play
because I think every Star Wars group needs at least one. My first choice would be to play a small pack of critters with a hive-mind
but I doubt that's gonna fly. |

I have a large army of Grenadier Tuskens, including Banthas, and a slightly smaller army of Grenadier Jawas, plus quite a few of the MicroMachines versions of each, plus some of the newer prepainted plastics, so definitely aliens for me. Love those Ithorians, too. |

When I buy aliens, I like to buy at least ten so I can have a squad's worth. I also like to do human figures with different color skin and hair, for near-human squads. |

I am all for the aliens, multi-hued human(oids), and droids. If Stars Wars got anything right IMO it was the infinite variety of lifeforms. There was (is) a coffee table book, The Wildlife of Star Wars: Field Guide link it takes the mythology to the next level
one of my favorites. Fills in the gaps for various planets that were noted in the movies. This sort of work is what I most appreciate about Star Wars, ans that is how the work influences writers and artists to step the work in other directions
much like Lovecraft's work has influenced others. ***** For gaming the doors are wide open for alien options
a big thumbs and tentacles up from me! |

So far I've rolled-up 4 player-characters for SWRPG campaigns: 2 human and two alien. I look through my Star Wars miniature collection and come across a figure I like and build a character around it. Ted |

fun times
***** I took a quick look at some Star Wars miniatures, this one jumped out to me as having character potential
Their use of sound amplified by the force is an interesting aspect
I picture it sounding much like a massive fog horn. |

In answer to this question we ran 2 or 3 characters each as there were only 2 of us and a GM, an odd way to look at it so many years after we stoped playing. we did always fall for the hot tw'ileck in a bar rouse. Or group was Human or near human, starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Human and a Kel Dor images.wikia.com/?dur=2788 one starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Weequay one link and a link sorry for the inacurate info above it was west end games that produced it not wizards. sorry hope the above was usefull jon |

Well I do like Aliens since I do alot of gaming with Gungans, but this also counts certain Jedi who are Alien as well. I think overall I've had more success with Aliens. Captain Gideon |

Never really thought of it in that context, but humans, mainly. For Star Trek though, I think being Klingon or Romulan would be more fun, since they are more militaristic, and the Rommies have a hot, sub-commander. |

My Honest answer to this is Yes, what ever I have miniatures for. I have been known to build characters for miniatures that I have found to cool not to use. And my rule is if it looks humanoid I play it as some form of human, on the concept form follows function. Maybe emphasizing some cultural quirk. |

never sure what you will end up with :)
