Well, its actually Sunday…
30th anniversary of Raiders.
Yup. 30 years for the Man in the Hat… and his whip…
That movie is STILL a classic!
I remember my mom took me and my bro outta school to see that film on opening day. My mom is cool.

Just for kicks, I am running the original TSRs Indiana Jones rpg and playing through the Raiders of the Lost Ark module on Saturday for the guys in the R.D.G.Club. It should take a good part of the evening. Though I am updating the figs to add in my pulp figs and not using those paper fold ups… Should be a good time.

Anybody else doing anything for the Raiders 30th?

I am going gambling in the Himalayas tonight.

I am going gambling in the Himalayas tonight.

Just don't get into a drinking contest with the barkeep.

It's too bad they had to turn Marion into a screaming girl in the second half of the movie. In the first part she was great; drinking the sherpa under the table, hitting Indy in the face, whacking a kidnapper in the head with a frying pan, even out-drinking the French Archeologist (darn it, what was his name?), but once we got into the tomb, she was just useless.

Does that then qualify it as a historical role playing game?

Fantastic movie. One of my all-time favorites.

Too bad they never made any sequels. Then again, if they had, they probably would have been terrible.

You are a funny guy, Darth!

I'm going round to Shia LaBeouf's house with a rounders bat and a blowtorch.

Least I could do.

Hit him with a flying refrigerator while you're at it.

Nah, has to be at LEAST as old as Middle Earth before it's historical.

That was Belloq,Rod. Paul Freeman played him.

I'm going to open up a carnival side-show in Abbotabad, with one exhibit--a large ornate box with angels ornamenting the top.
Admission: Taliban and al-Qaeda members only, must show their employee association card to get a peek inside.

After that, we'll be taking it on the road to the Northwest Provinces, northern Afghanistan, Teheran, Damascus…

It's not the years baby. It's the mileage.

I went to a nearby theater to see it when it opened. There was a large crowd at there and I thought that seating would be tight, but, to my surprise there was lots of room. It appears that the locals were all flocking to a different movie being "sneak-peeked" that night. I guess some locals were extras and it was filmed in the area. I enjoyed watching Raiders while most everyone else watched "Stripes" I was stationed at Ft. Knox.
