If this is true, how about 'thanks for keeping the line going so long, and operating such a super efficient turn around on orders Tony'? Hope the new owner lives up to it. Guy |

As someone who has had nothing but trouble when ordering from NAVWAR I applaud the change. I also hope the new owner can update and improve the quality of those castings that have deteriorated. A WEB presence with on-line ordering would also be very nice. Thanks for the information. Will |

You'll find this link works better: heroicsandros.co.uk/heroics Hmm
still talks about navwar's shop at Seven Kings. Nothing about new ownership, except on the Order Form. |

Let's hope that this just a transitional period and that the newer information will be uploaded soon. I have a number of people lined up to purchase H&R, just as long as it is not through NavWar. E.H. |

"A WEB presence with on-line ordering would also be very nice." I second this -- I placed a huge order with NavWar many years ago for H&R and had to mail in a Money Order with a list of what I wanted. Now, over 20 years later, this is still the way to order. So much for progress. A web presence with on-line ordering is a must, unless you are not interested in being in business. E.H. |

As long as Navwar takes my order that I send out by letter to the UK, and consistently ships the goods faster then almost all shops that do have a webshop, then I see no reason to complain. If you don't want to spend time to send out a letter or a fax, then don't complain and buy elsewhere. The way Navwar is run won't change. |

"If you don't want to spend time to send out a letter or a fax, then don't complain and buy elsewhere" NavWar's shipping costs to North America are another sore spot. I received a quote from NavWar in 2001 for $250 USD just to ship my order to Canada. I ordered from Spirit Games instead and was charged $62 USD shipping for the same order. I asked Spirit Games how they came up with $62 USD shipping and they said that with packaging, that was the actual cost. What a novel idea -- actually charge the real shipping rate. $250 USD to ship an order of miniatures that are no heavier or larger than a hard cover book? I did go elsewhere to shop. Who wouldn't with those shipping rates? |

Great news I have thousands of the figs but stopped buying when the original owners sold. The reason service, not shipping but the fact that when you wanted some command strips the old owners where more than happy to sell you the new one seemed to find it inconvenient . I remember once asking the old owners if they where going to do Napoleonic cav in capska and he said he did not have any plans for them but the next order I received 20 of the officers from the lancer strips which worked. This year I finally buckled down and prepared a list of things I needed to fill out a couple of my armies the Austrians and French for 1809 and some Russians for 1807. The order ended up being for 450£. It was like pulling teeth to get what I wanted in command strips it was a painful antagonistic experience that I did not want to do again even thou I did need about the same amount to fill other armies. So for me this sounds great and will have to put together an order soon. William |

Shipping costs can be easily circumvented if you have friends in the UK and ask them to order on your behalf so they can send it to you. If not, it might be time to start making a few friends. The solution to your problem isn't hard. |

I also have thousands of £ worth of H&R that I want to add to, especially if the opportunity to make up un-listed packs returns. Back in 1994 my club was investing hugely in a D-Day microtank demo game and the guys at H&R were really helpful in creating packs for us. The French resistance units were odd strips from ACW, Colonial and modern ranges, chosen, picked and packed specifically for our order. Outstanding service. Navwar more recently were not prepared to even add extra command strips to a £300+ order for Franco Prussian figures for me. Needless to say Spirit Games and Keep Wargaming got my money instead. If the new owners get even part way to the levels of service that H&R had in the old days they will do well. |

I wonder if Spirit Games will be carrying H&R again? I sure hope so. Mike

I just realized that Baccus tends to be cheaper than Ros. Didn't realize that before. May still order some ROS to fill out some things. But new periods will be Baccus. Thanks, John |

Hi I just wanted to let you all know I am now the new owner of Heroics and Ros 1/300th range. I have purchased this from Tony. He is continuing with his Ships and 15mm figures and will use the Navwar name. I am currently awaiting approval to use the Heroics and Ros name. Once received I plan to launch a new web site with on line shopping facilities, in the meantime I will be offering a site based on the previous Navwar site but with the addition of an email address to which you can send you orders (up in the next day or two I hope ) I also hope to release some new models and review the moulds to find any in need of renewal. I would like to thank Tony for his help in this transfer and can only hope I can move Heroics and Ros forward while not losing those bit Tony did well. Please bear with me as there are so many things I would like to do but have to be realistic about what I can achieve and how quickly. If you have any suggestion please feel free to drop me an email sales@heroicsandros.co.uk I would like to wish you and your families a Merry Christmas and Happy 2010. Andy Kirk

Andy can I start by adding to my best wishes in your new endeavour. However I would not be a wargamer if I didn't badger you about something! Do you have any plans to expand the, already awesome, range of WW II aircraft? ;-) On the subject of Tony and Navwar I would say that I never had a single problem dealing with him. he was always courteous and helpful. Even during the long period when the problems in his real life would have had me running away and hiding he always professional. As I don't use any of his remaining ranges I suppose that means I will no longer be dealing with him. I for one am a little saddened by that fact. Fatman PS Andy I will try and squeeze a quick order out of my rapidly diminishing Xmas money. |

As a resident Brit, I always found Navwar's service to be excellent. Maybe they didn't "get it" when it came to new technology, but round trip times from order to delivery regularly beat companies with fancy web order systems. I never encountered the command figure problem, but I no longer have the eyesight to see the little guys as individuals. So I'd like to say a big thanks to all at Navwar for keeping the brand running, and welcome Andy as the new custodian of the one true scale. I'll look forward to the new Jenkins ear range. ;-) |

I wish he's sold the naval range. With all due respect to people who have ordered from him and had "good service" in the past. . . the stone age order and settlement system he uses cannot be considered adequate service today. The antiquated processes and rediculous international shipping rates have cost him many many customers. They are probably customers he doesn't care about given his semi-retirement, but that still doesn't qualify it as providing "good service." For a naval analogy. . Yamato had the best visual range finders in the world. . . but was hoplessly outclassed by US RDFC. Given the choice between to two systems, any rational commander would choose RDFC every time. I've never spoken to or corresponded with the guy. I'm sure as a person he's nice and a good fellow you'd like to have a beer with. But the naval wargaming hobby will benefit greatly when he sells the range to somebody willing to invest in modern business practices. H&R is setting a great example by at least offering a way to order miniatures via email. Kudos! |

Hi Just a quick update. We have tried to get a temporary web site up with the ability to create and order based on the old "Navwar" site. This hasn't worked due to some incompatibility between the different host services Navwar and ourselves use. Rather the spend lots of time working on what will only be a temporary site we are now concentrating getting a functioning new site . I hope this will go live early in the new year. The site now just contains a downloadable order form and a catalogue of the products which have been transferred with Heroics and Ros In the meantime you can order via email or if you prefer by fax yes we have one just in case :-) heroicsandros.co.uk sale@heroicsandros.co.uk +44(0)280 890 6265 Many Thanks Andy |

I'm glad to hear that they'll continue to produce Naismith figures. There had been a rumor that they were going to drop that line. They're about the only true 15mm figures still available. |

It'd also be really nice to see a reduction in shipping charges for us United States fans. H&R were always my favorite line of minis, but when the pack prices went up to 2.50 and shipping is charged at 40%, that put them past Baccus and Adler by quite a bit. |
