Do you think multi-part Perry miniatures and multi-part Games Workshop miniatures would look OK if mixed? I am thinking in some convertions using parts both from Perry and GW miniatures sprues, but I am unsure if they can be mixed at all or if there is some scale/size difference between them. Has anybody tried this before? All comments will be of great help. Thank You!! |

Not even kind of close. I've seen pics of Perry plastic Napoleonic troops with Cadian parts and they weren't even close. It's worse than trying to put Catachan arms on Wood Elves. Edit: Found the pic picture It's Cadian arms and a Catachan head.

Yeah the height of the figures is not too far off. But the "scale" is way off! Mind you I only have Perry ACW plastics to compare. The "thickness" of GW Warhammer would look horid mixed with the more "realistic" Perry sculpts. You could probably mix Perry and GW Lord Of the Rings. |

WOW! Now I know heads and arms MUST NOT/SHOULD NOT be mixed! I was just planning in some "equipment/weapons" swaps; not really arms or heads. Thank you very much! |

One comment I've heard regularly is that if you use true 28mm scale minis as Guard, it makes Marines and Orks look much more like they should. Weapon swaps might be OK, but it might be safer to get some weapons from The Assault Group and make them look like lasguns. Get a few sprues of chainsaws from Missminis and make your own chainswords. With a little creativity, they could be made to look good as Guardsmen. |

Yeah I use VOID Viridians as Imperial Guard – far closer to what they should be for scale purposes which means I don't have to worry about the whole "true scaling" thing. The curious thing is, it comes out cheaper. |

My plan is to make some 40K Imperial Guard Roughriders with the new plastic napoleonic heavy french cavalry from Perry Miniatures. Just adding some bits of 40K imperial guard equipment here and there (such as hand granades, canteens, holstered laspistols, etc..etc..) and some "special/assault" weapons to give them a more "futuristic" look. Thank you all. |

I'm eyeballin' the heavy french cav for the very same reason. |

And how about using the new Perry medievals with WHFB Brettonnians? Has anybody tried that? thanks. |

The Perry METAL figs mix pretty well with the GW LOTR range, if anyone is looking for that mix. |

magokiron, in terms of infantry the Perry figures are the same height, but slimmer. More in line with the older Bretonnian metal infantry. Mixable, if you aren't real fussy. |

It's too bad no one is making plastics that fit GW scale, I've been wanting to do a medieval world campaign minus armored knights. I'm glad I came across this thread, I was considering using some cavalry from other manufacturers myself. Looks like Perry is out
maybe I can fit them into my VSF? |
