I am looking for some "Robin Hood" styled minis in 28mm or 30mm, preferably with swords rather than bows (which might seem backwards.) I am planning on using them as Arborians for a Flash Gordon game (based on the 1930's B&W serials rather than anything later.)

Thank you!

GW had a not-Robin/Tuck/Little John, check ebay.

West Wind has some Robin Hood figures. They are pretty nice.

Blue Moon has Robin and the Sheriff sets; but they may have bows.

I have the Blue Moon Robin/Sheriff blisters (4 of the
'character' figures in each, Robin, Marian, Little John,
Will, Sheriff, John, couple others) and the Blue Moon
Robin's Men and Sheriff's Men boxes.

The figures are very well done, and are beautiful when
well-painted (not by me !).

The Sheriff's Men box contains 12 figures, 2 carry
crossbows, 5 w/chainmail, sword and shield, 5 w/chainmail
and sword only.

Robin's Men box also has 12 figures, 2 w/quarterstaff,
2 w/sword, 3 w/drawn bow and nocked arrow and sheathed
sword, 3 w/drawn bow and 2 w/bow carried in left hand,
one of which has an arrow nocked, but not in the 'drawn'
position.

These are 'hefty' figures, and look good, even beside
my MegaMiniatures 28mm 'Townspeople' and 'Court' figures.

Hope this helps !

Bahhhh I should not have looked at that page, I now want Robin and his Men…

I like the Sherriffs men set expecially.

Does anyone know the name of GW's not-Robin for better e-bay searching?

There's a set on ebay uk right now, and a Foundry ltd ed of Robin too. Just type in Robin Hood in the wargames category.

The old Hinchliffe/Calder Craft Robin Hood figures sculpted by Peter Gilder are still available from Hinds Figures hinchliffe.co.uk/home.htm under the 25 mm Medieval link. They do have the advantage of price, at 65p each.
