Specifically, who owns the molds to Metal Magic's fantasy, cthulhu and Asterix ranges?

streetline19 Feb 2009 7:57 a.m. PST

The Asterix ones are long gone, sadly. Some CoC figures are now with eM-4. Some Fantasy ranges I've seen from a company in US, but not all. They seem to have been fairly widely split up.

Possibly Mega Minis? But I'm not sure.

Mega Minis seems to have the fantasy ones.

I'm looking for the Bob Olley sculpts. I'll check them out.

nycjadie19 Feb 2009 8:41 a.m. PST

I read that a German company owned them and I'll be travelling there in April. But, I understand they are no longer in business.

Cosmotiger19 Feb 2009 8:51 a.m. PST

Megaminis has reissued the Bob Olley dwarfs and they are currently sold on their ebay store and through retail stores in 24 packs. At one time they produced some beastmen Bob had sculpted also, but I'm not sure if they are currently in production.

The German company that owned them was soemthing like Hobbycraft (not sure if that's exactly right, it had the word Hobby in the name). AFAIK, they went out of business years ago.

The German company that made the Demon World and Das Schwartsage(sp?) figures had a bunch of the Metal Magic molds at one time. The Fantasy molds are scattered…I actually have one of the Goblin character molds with a certificate of authenticity and reproduction rights that I picked up on eBay years ago as a lark.

Hobby Products GmbH was the company. Thanks to Cosmotiger for jogging my memory.

Hobby Products were the originators of the Metal Magic line, in fact.

I have some of the giant and dragon molds.

How about the 25 mm Space Lords (?) line of sci-fi figures. Would love to get more of those.

EM-4 has the Spacelords stuff, IIRC.

If you find them, let me know.

I'd be interested in getting the gauls and some Romans.

David, do you have those giants and dragons in production?

nycjadie,
I do. You can see them here link . The lion dragon is not one of the metal magic figures.

Thanks, David. Will you have those at Cold Wars?
