The Earl of Ormonde's Anglo-Irish confront Montgarret's Irish force at Kilrush in 1642. We recently played a refight of this battle at Valleycon 24, our local club's annual convention as part of our next scenario book for the Celtic Fringe using "for King & Parliament" rules, which will cover 8 Irish battles from 1641 to 1649. The comprehensive battle report below was written by fellow author Paul R. link I hope you find it interesting. |

Great battle report and a very interesting looking scenario. I am a big fan of the Montrose Scenario book already, and after really enjoying a first game (we played Justice Mills) we have decided to go through the whole campaign. We have played Tippermuir so far which was a major Royalist victory (despite it being the Sabbath, the Covenanters had no luck what's so ever!). Looking forward to the Irish Scenario book. Will Knocknanuss be in the book? |

Thanks for your kind comments CTG, glad you are enjoying the Montrose book. Yes Knocknanuss is included in our Irish book. We test played the scenario in late 2023: TMP link TMP link |
