I have seen several threads on these boards about the black/dark grey Litewka of this unit. I have also read the "Prussian Landwehr of the Napoleonic Wars" by Dr Stephen Summerfield.
In this book it says under Litewka: Dark blue or dark grey,
I was trying to understand what this statement means. Does it mean:
1) We do not know for sure whether the Litewka was dark blue or dark grey, but the regiment was a uniform color.
2) Some of the squadrons in the regiment were dark blue and some were dark grey.
3) Within individual squadrons there were some men in dark blue and some in dark grey,

I suspect that the answer is that we just don't know for sure, but I wanted to check in with the group to see if they have any further information.

I am thinking of having a squadron with maybe 30% of figures in dark grey (faded black) and 70% in dark blue. It would look different on the table and make a good talking point, but I want to make sure that I am not putting something improbable on the table.

I think option 2 then option 1. That's how the infantry dealt with motley litewkas.

From everything I know often litewkas was the man's Sunday coat. A Regiment would try to keep the same coats in same unit. So a squadron might be dark gray and the other 3 squadrons could be Blue.
I have some Landwehr painted like this.

Look on bright side, no one has a color photo of a 1813 unit

Thanks for all of the helpful comments. I am planning on modeling the regiment with three squadrons. As a result of the comments, I think that I am going to have two squadrons in the dark blue Litewka and one in the dark grey.

My 2nd Pomeranian has only 6 figures at 1=60, I have 1 Pomeranian infantry Landwehr and it has 8, the barrel was fairly scrapped out after they filled out their line units.

See the topic "The Prussians in 1815" at link the likelihood it was just the 4th squadron in grey.

The only contemporary image of Pomeranian Landwehr cavalry in gray which I know, is in the Elberfeld Manusript (n° 19a, 12 April 1814). It shows a man of the 2. Pommersches Landwehr Kavallerie-Regiment:

Oliver, thanks for the image. I will us that color grey as the basis of the squadron I plan to do in dark grey.

Hope to see them soon…
