I find this disturbing on several levels.

Seems Russia has the advantage, if the US can't give Ukraine anything to stop Russian gliding bombs.

No wonder it would be different from too long habits of fighting guys in sandals and medievals, from first class countries.

Not surprising. We know Russia invested heavily in EW capabilities because they can't actually match Western military capabilities. These are supposed to have inertial navigation systems which are immune to jamming. Cant jam a nonexistent signal. I'm not an expert but I assume that since it also has GPS guidance the Ukrainians relied on that and it didn't go well.

Again, measure – counter measure – counter counter measure …

The US leadership better realize that defense of its people should be #1.

Good we found out this way rather when we are in a war of survival. We can learn from this.

Of course, Boeing will ask for a lot more money to bring their GLSDB system up to current standards…

I do not think Ukraine is getting the latest greatest version of precision-guided munitions from the US.
Still it is a set back for them. Hopefully the US can help them out.

In the 1980s I served in a MI (CEWI) battalion of the First Infantry Division. Interfering with enemy EW capabilities was a major battlefield task.
So since the Russians suffered losses with failed counter weapons fanctions. It is not a surprise that they have upgraded their CEW abilities.

The US Army IIRC about a decade ago added a Cyberwarfare branch. We have to always be ahead of our enemies. Or try …

So now along with Infantry, Tank, FA, etc. Army branches they now have the Cyberwarfare branch. As we see this type of warfare is very important. And will keep getting even more so in the future …
