The ORBAT for the HQ of a company of Fallschirmjager in Normandy includes '2 light trucks' Does anyone have an idea of which types they would be? |

My suggestion is the Ford 3000 S. They were all over the place with 25,000+ made in Germany, France, Belgium, Poland, etc. before and during the war. |

I do not think that is a Kubelwagen. I wonder what it is? |

Looks like a Kfz 1. One of the Einheits PKW cars produced with different bodies by different manufacturers. link |

I may possibly be answering a different question to that which was asked, in that it may concern HQ vehicles. Von der Heydte's 6. Fallschirmregt had a motor transport Kompanie to move the three Battalions, and his record mentioned that it had 60 trucks of a quite bewildering variety of origins: German, French, British and Italian. So everything from Opel Blitz, Bedford MWD, Citroen, Renaut and Fiat trucks is probably in order. He also mentions that many of the drivers were ethnic Volksdeutsche from Alsace, and of dubious loyalty. As French-speakers, some were made aware of the epic events unfolding on the night of 5-6 June and deserted. |

Thanks Edward. That is really interesting. I think that I may therefore pair a German and a French truck to complete the HQ. |

The KStN just gives Coy HQ of the Rifle Coys one 4-seater light personnel car and two 3-ton lorries. As normal no attempt at stating a type, just a carrying class, which as described above could vary wildly. Gary |

Gary, do you have a link for your KStN source? |

I don't think copies of the original tables are online however the Rifle Company is available at wwiidaybyday.com. link Gary |

Does anyone know a source for a 1/72 scale Kfz 1 Einheits PKW as shown in the FJ picture above? I know that ACE used to do one, but I cannot track down a source. Similarly, Millicast used to do a 1/76 version, but not any longer. Any ideas? |

Thanks Colonel. Those seem to be the four door version of which there are many. The two door version, which I am after, seems rarer. |
